How to Access
Accessing the Schema.org Custom Fields provides instructions on how to access the schema.org custom fields within the Article Manager. After selecting the Schema Type, the appropriate fields will display based on the properties defined for the Schema Type on schema.org.
Select Recipe from the list.
If you do not see Recipe in the list, the plugin is not active. Go to System > Plugins, search for Schema and tap the checkbox to activate the plugin. It should show a green checkmark like in the screenshot below.
What is it For
The Recipe schema type is for recipe creators, testers and bloggers to help search engines to display information. See https://schema.org/recipe for additional information.
This gives the search engines information like:
- Featured Recipe Image
- Recipe Title/Name
- Recipe Author
- Recipe Cook Time
- Published Date
- Short Description
- Cooking Method - for example frying, steaming, baking, etc.
- Recipe Preparation Time
- Category
- Cuisine
- Instructions
- Yield - how much is created with the recipe
- Suitable for Diet - if the recipe is good for certain diet restrictions, such as low-carb, keto, dairy-free, etc.
- Ingredients - a repeatable custom field to enter each ingredient
- Nutrition - a number of columns to enter information about the recipe
The Generic Field section is only to define custom properties that is not defined in the default form.
